Mission
Our mission at Phoenix Coaching & Self-Empowerment is to create awareness around the importance of mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding it. We want to help people prioritise self-care to become the best version of themselves.
Phoenix Coaching & Self-empowerment aims to provide high-quality care via a multi-disciplinary approach which is in line with our scope of practice.
Vision
Our goal is to become the go-to centre for people to invest in their self-care and mental health.
“you cannot pour from an empty cup”
People who prioritise self-care are happier and consequently more productive in their pursuits.
Soon, the aim is to move from a purely counselling and coaching service offering, to providing BSR (Body Stress Release), Tai Chi, TRE (Tension, Stress and Trauma Release), Krav Maga, and many other therapeutic modalities.
Quote

“…and if you’re not ready to bloom for them;

(to show them who you really are)

then bloom for yourself.

bloom internally.

bloom so much that buds fall

from your bones

and

earth breaks beneath your feet.”

– April Green

About Me
I am a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP), which means that my scope relates to non-psychological counselling. I am also a qualified Life Coach and Neuro-linguistic Programming practitioner.
I have a passion for empowering people through addressing limiting beliefs, helping with goal setting and follow-through, and recovery from trauma. A special interest of mine is to work with victims of human trafficking, trauma, and abuse.
My journey started in 2005 when I studied Psychology and Criminology at the University of Pretoria and graduated in 2007. I then started working full-time in admin to save up for my Honours Degree in Psychology which I completed on a part-time basis through UNISA in 2014. After that, I completed my Honours Degree in Criminology through UNISA.
At the end of 2019, I became certified as an NLP & Life Coach through Action Factory. My ambition is to become a Clinical Psychologist and, in the meantime, I’m working full-time while offering counselling after hours until I can branch out on a full-time basis.
I am inspired and influenced by the works of Viktor Frankl, Abraham Maslow, Carl Jung, Carol Dweck, Friedrich Nietzsche and Jordan Peterson. I believe in a growth mindset, and that feeling safe and having your basic needs met is important to reach your full potential.
I have a firm belief that no matter the circumstances, people can be reborn from the ashes of their lives and transform into something greater, hence Phoenix Coaching & Self-empowerment’s tagline “rise”.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way”
