I am a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP), which means that my scope relates to non-psychological counselling. I am also a qualified Life Coach and Neuro-linguistic Programming practitioner.
I have a passion for empowering people through addressing limiting beliefs, helping with goal setting and follow-through, and recovery from trauma. A special interest of mine is to work with victims of human trafficking, trauma, and abuse.
My journey started in 2005 when I studied Psychology and Criminology at the University of Pretoria and graduated in 2007. I then started working full-time in admin to save up for my Honours Degree in Psychology which I completed on a part-time basis through UNISA in 2014. After that, I completed my Honours Degree in Criminology through UNISA.
At the end of 2019, I became certified as an NLP & Life Coach through Action Factory. My ambition is to become a Clinical Psychologist and, in the meantime, I’m working full-time while offering counselling after hours until I can branch out on a full-time basis.
I am inspired and influenced by the works of Viktor Frankl, Abraham Maslow, Carl Jung, Carol Dweck, Friedrich Nietzsche and Jordan Peterson. I believe in a growth mindset, and that feeling safe and having your basic needs met is important to reach your full potential.
I have a firm belief that no matter the circumstances, people can be reborn from the ashes of their lives and transform into something greater, hence Phoenix Coaching & Self-empowerment’s tagline “rise”.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way”
– Viktor Frankl
